Who is responsible
Doña Distillery (Pty) Ltd, Cape Town, South Africa, is the responsible party. Information officer: name TBC, reachable through the contact page.
What we collect, and why
- Email sign-up. Your email address, and your name if you give it. We use it to send you the emails you asked for: new cans, where we are pouring, the occasional giveaway. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw by unsubscribing.
- Contact form. Your name, email address and message. We use it to reply. Lawful basis: it is necessary to answer you.
- Age confirmation. Your answer to the age gate is stored in your own browser only. It never reaches us.
- Site usage. If we run analytics it will be a privacy-respecting service that does not use cookies or identify you. We will name it here when we do.
We do not collect anything else, and we do not buy, sell or swap lists.
Who else sees it
Email addresses and messages are stored and sent with Resend, an email service provider, and the site is hosted by Vercel. Both may process data outside South Africa under their own safeguards. Nobody else gets your details unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Sign-ups: until you unsubscribe, after which the address is removed from the list. Contact messages: for as long as it takes to deal with them and up to two years after, in case you write again.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us through the contact page and we will do it within a reasonable time, normally a week. You can also complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Under 18s
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Cookies
The site sets no tracking cookies. The age gate uses local storage in your browser so you are not asked every time.
Changes
If this changes we will update the date at the top and, for anything material, tell subscribers by email.
